About William

I am a passionate flute tutor who enjoys helping students explore music creatively and confidently. My teaching combines mentorship, accountability, critical thinking, and creative exploration. I focus on tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while nurturing expressive musicality. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and listening skills to strengthen overall musicianship. Creativity is central to my lessons, including improvisation, composition, and musical storytelling. I guide students to set goals, practice consistently, and track their progress. Mistakes are treated as natural learning opportunities and stepping stones to improvement.

I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, skill level, and personal interests. I act as a mentor, providing guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback in every session. Lessons balance technical work with creative exercises to keep students engaged. I emphasise reflection, problem-solving, and independent thinking in all sessions. My goal is to build confidence, discipline, and a love for music in every student. I also teach related subjects such as performance preparation, rhythm, and theory. I create a positive and motivating environment where students feel supported. Every lesson is designed to help students become expressive, confident, and lifelong learners of music.

About the lesson

I teach flute with a focus on creativity, accountability, and thoughtful learning. I believe every student can grow into a confident and expressive musician with proper guidance. Each lesson combines structured technique practice with creative musical exploration. I act as a mentor who motivates students to think critically and express themselves through music. Accountability helps students stay disciplined and consistent in their practice. Lessons include tone, rhythm, phrasing, and breath control exercises. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and listening to strengthen overall musicianship.

Creativity is encouraged through improvisation, musical composition, and experimentation. Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities. My teaching is flexible to suit different ages, levels, and learning styles. I emphasise reflection, problem-solving, and self-evaluation in every lesson. I create a supportive and positive environment for learning. I encourage students to take ownership of their practice and progress. I also teach related subjects like theory and performance skills. My goal is to help students build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.
