About Lewis
Who Am I?
I am a trainee solicitor at a local law firm in Exeter. Having recently completed my Master’s degree and the Legal Practice Course (LPC), I am now approaching qualification as a solicitor. Alongside my academic and professional development, I maintain a strong interest in surfing, rugby, football, and physical training. I value discipline and resilience, and regularly challenge myself both mentally and physically.
Why I Want to Teach Online
Teaching is genuinely rewarding for me, particularly the opportunity to build strong rapport with students and support their development. Online tutoring offers the flexibility of remote work, which suits my goals for international travel, while still allowing me to provide consistent, high-quality support.
I believe I bring significant value as a tutor not only through my legal knowledge, but through my mindset and approach to learning. I aim to help students develop confidence, structure, and resilience. These are skills that are essential not just for academic success, but for their future legal careers.

My Approach to Tutoring
My tutoring adopts a personalised, exam/essay focused approach, delivered in a relaxed and supportive learning environment. I aim to make sessions engaging and accessible by encouraging discussion and using practical examples.
Typical Length of a Lesson
Lessons typically last 40–60 minutes, which I find to be the optimal length for maintaining concentration and ensuring effective learning. This allows sufficient time to cover key concepts in depth without overwhelming the student.
Qualifications and Tutoring Experience
I am a first-class law graduate from Swansea University and have recently completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law. My tutoring experience includes supporting first-year law students in Tort Law through the Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) scheme. I have experience tutoring undergraduate and LPC students. These experiences developed my ability to structure lessons effectively, adapt teaching methods, and respond to individual learning needs.
