About Fiona

As mentioned earlier, my name is Fiona, and I truly believe that the reason I was brought to this earth was to help people.

I have been writing basically since I unlocked the ability to move my fingers. I dabble mainly in creative writing in my free time, and identify strongly as a certified brainstormer, as well as an aspiring author.

Another role I proudly have is one of a tutor, which I have had for about 1 and a half years now (as of 2024).
I opened this account to reach out to more people and offer my services to a wider branch than my local community.

In all honesty, and despite the plethora of words and terms available for me to use, I feel that none of them can encapsulate the pure joy that is teaching to me.

To see a student’s face light up when they finally understand a topic that may have once been so daunting to them is euphoric.

Because before that, they are a person.

A person that might have once feared that they would fail.
A person whose studies may have caused them confusion and frustration.
A person who might have been told they might have to resit their exams, and who has no idea what to do next.

I want to help people, and if somebody has the courage to ask for it on this platform, I will do my best to provide it if I am not overbooked.

To know that I have the abilities to help take away those negative feelings that come with struggling academically away from someone, (at least, in one subject), just by ensuring I’ve understood the why’s and how’s towards that person’s situation, is just such a rewarding experience on both ends, and is something I always look forward to providing over and over again to anybody that ever needs or wants it from me.

I am here to help.

I wish I could make that my middle name.

That’s why I’ve made this account and why I have a smile on my face most days.

About the lesson

Hello there!

My name is Fiona, and I am an absolute English enthusiast! excelled all throughout the GCSE English course, so I’m more than buzzing to share that passion and knowledge with you as well!

My lessons will be very user-centric, meaning that everything is done per your request, to aid your own progress, and only with your approval. Any teaching methods, modules that we cover, or even the pace at which we study, will be decisions we make to ensure your utmost comfort, first and foremost!

To start, I will assess you and ask how you’re doing and what you are struggling with, before I write a plan on how to reach your targets and what to improve on by the specified date.

I will assess what methods you work best with and identify your studying and revision preferences and dislikes. This is how I introduced the personalised aspect of our sessions; by getting to know the person, aka, you!

Thereafter, with this new information on your needs, I will personally create worksheets and revision packs to aid your individual progress and requests, and I will always seek your feedback at the end of each session. I will also provide you with homework that will not only aid you but be crafted personally to help you flourish and keep you comfortable and engaged, based on my assessment of you.

Always remember that when it comes to these lessons, my focus and priority is you and ONLY you! Therefore, please feel free to enlighten me as to how you feel, and I will do my very best to accommodate your needs. Do not ever feel shy to let me know what you want, need, like, or don’t like, or love, or don’t love.

These are your sessions, and like how a tailor can adjust a piece of clothing until it fits you just right, I’m going to personally tailor these sessions to work for you in the exact way that they need to.
