About Clara

Hello! My name is Clara and I have five years' experience as a tutor, counsellor, and teacher. As a former IB student and daughter of two IB teachers, I specialise in IB test prep and academic writing. While these subjects are my forte, I also have two years' teaching experience in a middle school setting, and seven years' experience tutoring and nannying primary years students in Maths and Reading. The key to promoting student learning experiences is making them feel heard and supported: sometimes, kids just need some extra attention to help them thrive. Getting to know students and investing in their educational challenges makes them feel connected to something bigger than themselves, which motivates them to try their best, and teaches them the value of hard work and perseverance. It results in not just better grades, but in long-term personal growth. Using this philosophy, I bring a positive attitude about hard work to the students I coach. Together, we work to achieve their goals. No matter who your child is, they deserve a fantastic educational support network and I would love to be a part of your team. University : - University of London, SOAS - MSc Research Methodology for Economic Development [First] - UC Berkeley - BA, Honours: History [4.0] School : Mira Loma High School IB - Environmental Science [6] - History [6] - English [6] - Statistics [6] - French [6]

Clara was a tutor for my children here in the San Francisco bay area and we all agree: she's the best! She's as intelligent as she is energetic, always ready with a new challenge to keep the time together creative, playful and fun. She let's the child have a lot of agency even while keeping on task with the larger picture. She's a wonderful person and an amazing teacher.

I was struggling to keep up with a compulsory Stats class on my Economics masters and was so thrilled to come across an ad from Clara. She was able to boil down complex concepts into simple chunks that were easy to comprehend. I was so grateful for her help and really enjoyed her class. She is extremely approachable and loves to help.
