About Sony
I am a dedicated violin tutor with 7 years of teaching and professional music experience, committed to helping students develop both technical mastery and a lifelong love for music. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, exams, and competitions.
One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with technique, posture, or confidence to performing confidently and expressively.
My teaching emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical expression, and emotional interpretation. I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students develop a comprehensive understanding of music. I personalise lessons to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore and grow.
Teaching violin allows me to nurture confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music in every student I teach.

I teach violin with a methodology grounded in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, aimed at developing technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Each lesson is customised to the student’s abilities, goals, and interests, balancing structured technical exercises with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance practice.
Motivation is central. I help students define achievable goals, track progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering engagement, confidence, and perseverance. Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive, providing a space for students to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas creatively.
Creativity is woven into every lesson. Improvisation, interpretation, and composition exercises allow students to develop their personal artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that ensure consistent progress and long-term success.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, giving students a well-rounded foundation in musicianship. My methodology ensures students progress technically, creatively, emotionally, and personally while fostering a lifelong passion for music.
