About Stuart

Studied for 1 year in Egypt with Hany Morgan and other teachers in private. Lived in Istanbul for 5 years studying with Misirli Ahmet and others. Study modern techniques and ideas with Yshai Afterman and Zohar Fresco. I also lived in India to study Konnankol and Tabla. Lived in Uganda for 5 months to study royal bugandan percussion and record tribal groups. I continue to play regularly with Light in Babylon, Meskhane, Johnny Makam and many other bands and continue to study and enjoy music every day. About the lesson

I base my teaching on the needs and desires of the students. Techniques, development of sentences, solo, accompaniment, odd rhythms and creation of his own sound. Traditional rhythms of Turkey, Balkans, Egypt. I can teach darbuka and bendir from beginner to advanced level. Riq, tabla, konnakol, tombak (zarb), cajon, daf can also be taught or incorporated into lessons.

Perfect! Stuart is amazing in his music skills as well as his knowledge! I am learning Konnakkol from him. He doesn’t hold back with passing on his knowledge and he is really patient and encouraging in the process too

Perfect! In 1 hour, Stuart gave me enough material to work for the next 2-3 months. Awesome! My technique has increased so much after practicing some of the exercises he gave me. I'm really impressed. I now have more inspiration and looking forward to the next lesson.
Also, after the class, he recorded all the exercises and sent me the videos. Excellent!
On top of that, Stuart is a very nice guy, fun to talk with and easy to approach.
