About Janumi
Hi! My name is Janumi Dissanayake, and I'm a Year 11 student at Nelson College for Girls. I have a strong passion for mathematics and have consistently been one of the top math students in my class. I studied in Sri Lanka until Year 10 before continuing my education in New Zealand, giving me a strong understanding of both the Sri Lankan and New Zealand mathematics curricula.
I have participated in both Mathematics and Science Olympiads and am confident teaching topics such as numbers, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics for students from Year 1 to Year 9. I have experience helping my classmates, younger friends, cousins, and my younger sister with math, and many of them have improved their understanding and achieved better grades.
I am friendly, patient, and easy to talk to. I enjoy explaining difficult concepts in simple ways using real-life examples and adapting my teaching style to suit each student's learning needs. My goal is to help students build confidence, enjoy mathematics, and reach their full potential.
I offer online lessons and in-person lessons in Nelson (transport costs may apply). I am available after school and on Saturdays and Sundays

Hi! I'm a Year 11 student with a strong mathematics background from Sri Lanka, where I studied until Year 10 before moving to New Zealand. I also have a strong understanding of the New Zealand mathematics curriculum, so I can help students learn using the methods taught in NZ schools. I teach mathematics for Year 1 to Year 9 students. My lessons are patient, engaging, and tailored to each student's needs. I explain concepts step by step, use plenty of examples, and provide practice questions to help build confidence and improve problem-solving skills. Whether you need help catching up, preparing for tests, or getting ahead, I'll make maths easier to understand and enjoyable to learn.
