About Umer

My teaching style is calm and precise. I would rather make one idea solid than rush through five, and I never mind being asked the same question twice.

Behind that patience is real experience: 11 years as a professional Python engineer in fintech and health-tech, an MSc in Computer Science (machine learning track) and a BSc in Applied Mathematics. I have 5+ years of hands-on AI and machine learning experience at work and 2+ years of teaching AI specifically, and I hold relevant AI certifications. One of my projects was a FastAPI service running a fraud-detection model in production. Students book me as an AI trainer, coach and tutor for machine learning and the math behind it as well as models in production with FastAPI, in one-on-one lessons online or in person in El Paso, TX.

I have been tutoring for 8 years. Over those years, many of my students have earned excellent grades, and others have started their first job in tech. I have taught 450+ students over 3,200+ hours, including a high school student who scored a 5 on AP Computer Science Principles. I also hold the PCAP, PCPP1 and AWS Certified Developer – Associate certifications. I teach in English, online or in person in El Paso, TX.

AI job ads ask for real projects and the ability to explain models, metrics and trade-offs, not just a certificate.

My AI lessons solve this with structure. I teach with a Predict-Run-Build loop. Predicting first makes you read the code carefully. Running it shows exactly where your understanding was off. Building the next step yourself, on your own model, project or assignment, turns that understanding into skill.

Each 60-minute lesson follows the same rhythm. The first five minutes are for your goals and questions. Then we review homework and do one predict-the-output warm-up. From minute 15 to 30, I introduce a new model or idea and code it live. The next 20 minutes are yours at the keyboard, on your own model, project or assignment. A short quiz follows, and the last five minutes cover the recap and homework. Written notes and the code arrive after the lesson.

The lessons suit career changers and job seekers moving into AI and data roles; beginners who want to understand AI from the ground up; and professionals who want to use AI tools at work. I have 5+ years of hands-on AI and machine learning experience at work and 2+ years of teaching AI, so lessons reflect how AI is really built, evaluated and used in teams.
