About Atticus
I am a passionate saxophone tutor with more than 7 years of experience teaching college students. I believe music learning should be structured, creative, and motivating. My teaching approach focuses on clear explanations, practical application, and continuous improvement.
Lessons include tone building, breath support, finger technique, rhythm training, and performance practice. I also encourage improvisation and musical creativity, helping students gain confidence in their playing. I use real-world music examples to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.
I apply innovative teaching methods such as recording analysis, guided practice sessions, and interactive play-along tracks. Along with saxophone skills, I teach music theory, ear training, and sight-reading to build a strong musical foundation.
My teaching environment is positive and encouraging. I aim to help students develop discipline, creativity, and a lasting love for saxophone music.

My teaching approach for Saxophone is designed to help students grow step by step while enjoying the learning process. I believe strong fundamentals are the key to confident playing. I focus on breath control, posture, embouchure, finger technique, tone quality, and rhythm from the beginning. These basics are taught using simple explanations and real music examples so students can understand easily and apply them in their practice.
Creativity is an important part of my lessons. I encourage students to explore melodies, experiment with sound, and try basic improvisation. Playing familiar songs and backing tracks helps students connect learning with real music. As a mentor, I support students with patience and motivation, helping them build confidence and overcome difficulties.
Critical thinking is developed by teaching students how to listen carefully, identify mistakes, and correct them. Accountability is maintained through clear practice routines, weekly goals, and regular feedback. Students learn discipline and responsibility. Along with Saxophone, I also teach Music Theory, Rhythm Training, Ear Training, and Scale Practice to support overall musical growth.
