About Me

Hi! My name is Ammar, and I am a rising 10th-grade high school honor student. I have always loved math, and because I just finished freshman year, the concepts taught in elementary and middle school are still incredibly fresh in my mind.

I decided to start tutoring because I know how frustrating math can be when it is taught in a confusing way. I want to help younger students realize that they are smart enough to get A's, they just need someone to explain the steps in a simple, relatable way. Outside of maintaining my honor roll grades, I love working with kids and keeping lessons high-energy, patient, and completely stress-free.

About the lesson

How I Teach & What My Lessons Look Like

I customize every math lesson to match exactly what your child is learning in school. My goal is to make math visual, fun, and easy to understand so they can build real confidence.

Our 1-Hour Session Structure:
• First 10 Mins (The Warm-Up): We review their current school homework or look over any concepts they found confusing during the week.
• Next 30 Mins (Interactive Practice): We solve problems together using a free, interactive digital whiteboard (Miro). Instead of just listening to me talk, the student gets to draw and solve math equations on the screen with me in real-time.
• Last 20 Mins (The Confidence Check): We play a quick, engaging math game or solve a couple of practice problems independently so they can prove to themselves that they mastered the topic.

My Teaching Philosophy:
I don't just give kids the answers. I teach them the "why" behind the math steps using shortcuts and tricks that I literally just used myself to maintain an honor roll average. I keep a high-energy, encouraging, and patient environment where it is 100% okay to make mistakes.
