About Thabang

Hello, my name is Thabang Tsotetsi, and I am a dedicated and passionate Mathematics tutor based in Benoni. I am committed to helping learners understand Mathematics in a simple, clear, and confidence-building way.

I have teaching experience working with learners from Grades 4–7 in both classroom and online environments. I have taught Mathematics, English FAL, and Natural Sciences and Technology during my teaching practice, and I also have experience teaching learners online using digital platforms.

My teaching approach is patient, structured, and learner-centered. I focus on breaking down difficult Mathematical concepts into small, easy-to-understand steps. I use practical examples and step-by-step explanations to help learners fully understand the work instead of memorizing formulas.

I believe every learner can succeed in Mathematics with the right support, encouragement, and consistent practice. I create a safe and comfortable learning environment where students feel free to ask questions and learn at their own pace.

About the lesson

My approach to private tutoring is learner-centered, structured, and focused on building confidence in Mathematics. I believe that every learner can succeed in Math when concepts are explained in a simple, relatable, and engaging way. I break down complex topics into smaller, understandable steps and use real-life examples to make learning meaningful.

What makes me unique as a Mathematics teacher is my patience, adaptability, and ability to identify each learner’s specific challenges. I do not rush the learning process; instead, I ensure that learners fully understand a concept before moving forward. I also use multiple teaching methods such as visual explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and regular practice to reinforce understanding.

I am proficient in English and can also support learners in isiZulu and Sesotho where necessary, helping to bridge language gaps and improve comprehension.

In a typical lesson, students can expect a warm and supportive environment. Lessons usually begin with a quick review of previous work, followed by introducing or revising a concept, guided practice together, and then independent exercises. I provide continuous feedback and encourage learners to ask questions freely.

My lessons are aimed at primary and secondary school learners (Grades 4–9), especially those who may be struggling with Mathematics or need extra support to improve their results. I also assist learners preparing for tests and exams, as well as those who want to strengthen their foundational skills.

Overall, my goal is not only to help learners improve their marks but also to develop their confidence, critical thinking, and long-term understanding of Mathematics.

I charge:

R150 per hour for Mathematics tutoring (Grades 4–9)
