About Arun

I am a dedicated MSci Mathematics undergraduate at Imperial College London, passionate about helping others achieve academic success. With a strong foundation in mathematics and a love for problem-solving, I am excited to share my knowledge and skills as an online tutor. My academic journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, and I thrive on making complex topics more accessible and engaging for students. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing badminton, which helps me maintain a balanced and disciplined approach to life. I am committed to fostering a supportive and productive learning environment for all my students.

About the lesson

My Credentials: MSci Mathematics Undergraduate at Imperial College London 4 A*s at A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics and an A in AS Economics. One of 30 students across the UK, selected with solutions to maths problems, to attend the Winchester Maths Summer School, held at Winchester College. First Prize in UK-wide University of Southampton Senior Mathematics Challenge 2021 Gold Award in the University of Cambridge Chemistry Challenge 2023 University of Cambridge STEM SMART scholar Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate and safeguarding children and health and safety 12 9s at GCSE level, including Maths and Further Maths, achieving full marks (160/160) in the Further Maths GCSE. ————————————————————————— I believe the above forms a good foundation for a tutor - however, it is pointless without my strong ability to CONVEY knowledge to students in a way tailored to their specific study skills. I have more than two years of experience teaching programming to children in Banstead, introducing a classroom of 20 children to programming and delivering structured lessons to teach important coding skills effectively with examples. I was noted for asking open-ended questions to allow students to develop their own ideas while also having structured lessons (with careful consideration of the specification) to make sure all the content's loose ends are tied up. I also have experience tutoring A-level students in Maths, which requires careful logical building-up from the very basics. Going through past papers analytically helped most of my students a lot, and similarly, I can personalise support carefully to make sure I adapt well to different learning styles. In lesson, I will adhere to the specification while going through problems and content in a fun engaging way, while not losing sight of the end goal. He not only went through the content but also taught me techniques to analyse new contexts and better memorise mechanisms in organic chemistry. I would definitely recommend Arun for chemistry as he is deeply analytical and shared this trait to me!
