About Talar

Hi I'm Talar! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and several years of experience tutoring students from elementary through high school. I’m passionate about helping students see math as something they can truly understand and feel confident in. My approach is patient, structured, and encouraging — I believe that with the right guidance, every student can succeed and even enjoy learning math.

About the lesson

I make math approachable and even enjoyable for students who want to feel more confident in class. My lessons focus on building true understanding instead of memorizing formulas. I break concepts down step by step, encourage questions, and use practical examples that show how math connects to everyday thinking. Each session starts with a short check-in to see what’s clear and what needs more practice. I work mostly with students in grades 3–9, helping them strengthen their math foundation, prepare for exams, and develop lasting problem-solving skills.
