About Gabi

I wasn't a "math person" growing up. Elementary school math felt confusing and discouraging, so I understand firsthand what it's like to struggle. Everything changed in high school, where I fell in love with the material and, just as importantly, with how my teacher presented it. That experience shaped how I teach today.

My own teachers noticed my compassion and patience and encouraged me to become a math tutor. As a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, I've been thanked again and again by students and their parents for the same patience and care. I know struggling with math doesn't mean you can't succeed, and I'm here to prove that to every student I work with

About the lesson

My Teaching Method & Techniques

I believe algebra clicks when students understand the "why," not just the "how." Using skills from teaching 2nd and 3rd grade, I break problems into manageable steps, check understanding often, and use real-world examples and visual models. I adapt my approach to each student's learning style.

A Typical Lesson

Each session opens with a quick review to reinforce previous material. We then work through the current topic together using guided examples, followed by independent practice with my support nearby. We close by reviewing key takeaways, answering lingering questions, and previewing what's coming next.

What Sets Me Apart

My experience spans multiple age groups and settings, including 2nd and 3rd grade teaching, high school Math TA work, 5th graders, and tutoring my niece and nephew who are in elementary and middle school. This range taught me patience and flexibility, and how to explain concepts several different ways until they truly click for each student.
