About Olive
Hi, I’m a passionate piano tutor with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, specializing in piano. Over the past 9 years, I’ve helped students of all ages, from school-aged beginners to adult learners, reach their musical goals. I combine solid academic training with practical experience across genres like classical, jazz, pop, and more. My teaching approach focuses on building strong technique, understanding music theory, and developing expressive performance skills. I love helping students discover the joy of playing and guiding them to express themselves through music. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level, goals, and interests, whether they want to perform, improvise, or simply enjoy playing. I emphasize keyboard technique, sight-reading, ear training, and connecting theory with practical application. I aim to make lessons engaging, motivating, and rewarding. I emphasize keyboard technique, sight-reading, ear training, and improvisation, helping students connect theory with practical application. I also incorporate performance skills, ensemble playing, and creative expression, so students can confidently share their music.
I adapt my teaching to suit each learner’s goals, whether they are starting as a curious child, exploring music as a hobby, or aiming for advanced proficiency. I focus on nurturing passion and motivation, encouraging consistent practice and self-expression.
Through structured lessons and personalized guidance, students gain fluency across the fretboard, improve musical memory, and develop a strong sense of rhythm and dynamics.
