About Makalyn

Hi! I’m Makalyn, a passionate and dedicated tutor with experience helping students succeed in math, science, and English. I specialize in subjects including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, physics, biology, and reading, and I work with students from elementary through high school. As a student myself, I understand the challenges learners face and know how to explain concepts in ways that are clear, relatable, and engaging. My teaching style is personalized and interactive, focusing on building confidence, improving understanding, and encouraging curiosity. I am committed to helping each student reach their academic goals while making learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Together, we’ll tackle difficult topics, strengthen skills, and boost confidence so you can succeed both in and out of the classroom.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is personalized, engaging, and adaptable to each student’s learning style. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, using examples, visual aids, and real-world applications to make the material relatable. I encourage active participation through questions, practice problems, and interactive discussions to ensure understanding and retention.

A typical lesson begins with a review of previous material and identification of areas where the student needs support. Then, we dive into new concepts, working through examples and guided practice. Finally, I assign practice problems or exercises to reinforce the lesson and check for understanding.

What sets me apart is my versatility across subjects, including math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, physics), science (biology), and English, as well as my ability to connect with students of all levels, from elementary through high school. Being a Gen Z student myself, I understand the challenges and learning styles of my peers, which allows me to make lessons relatable, encouraging, and even fun.

My lessons are ideal for middle and high school students who want to improve grades, strengthen understanding, or gain confidence in a variety of subjects. I also work with elementary students who need foundational support in math, reading, or science.
