About Catherine
I am passionate about teaching languages. I have taught French and Spanish in UK secondary schools for 3 years. In addition I have 3 years experience teaching English as a foreign language to children and adults in Greece, France, and Colombia. Teaching in a variety of contexts has led me to be an adaptable, student-centred teacher.
I have an excellent record of student progress and achievements.
As an Oxford graduate in French and Linguistics, I use my knowledge of language-learning to offer the best for students of all levels. I tutor a range of levels in French and particularly love teaching French literature study.
I have a PGCE (University of Manchester) and a CELTA (Certificate in English Teaching to speakers of another language) qualification.
In addition, I have recently finished a Masters in Education from the University of Manchester.

I am sensitive to learners' needs and adapt my teaching to suit them. I am used to adapting my teaching towards particular requirements and would ensure I know the requirements for any qualifications you are working towards. I can work with children and adults, with a range of teaching styles for engagement. I believe that enjoyment is at the heart of the language learning process. I ensure pupils practise a range of skills, are able to communicate, and understand grammar. I also am keen to expose pupils to cultural materials from Francophone countries.
