About Elysia
I am a passionate piano tutor with fourteen years of experience, teaching high school and college students. I have successfully guided around 150 students, helping them develop their skills and love for music.
My teaching philosophy focuses on creating a fun and supportive environment where students feel comfortable to express themselves. I believe that learning piano should be enjoyable, and I incorporate a variety of styles, including classical, jazz, and pop, to keep lessons engaging.
I celebrate each student’s progress and encourage creativity, allowing them to explore their musical interests. My teaching approach to piano focuses on five key principles: Communication, Flexibility, Creativity, Accountability, and Integrity.
**Communication** is essential for effective learning. I encourage open dialogue with my students, allowing them to express their thoughts and ask questions freely. This creates a comfortable space for them to grow.
**Flexibility** allows me to adapt my lessons to each student’s needs, whether they are beginners or advanced players. I adjust my teaching style based on their learning pace and musical interests, whether it’s classical, jazz, pop, or R&B.
**Creativity** is at the heart of my lessons. I incorporate fun activities, improvisation, and composition to help students develop a genuine love for music. I believe that music should be enjoyable, not just about theory and technique.
**Accountability** helps students stay focused on their goals. I guide them to set achievable milestones and celebrate their progress along the way.
Finally, **Integrity** is important in building trust. I provide honest feedback and support, ensuring a positive learning experience. Together, we will explore the world of music and develop your skills on the piano and beyond!
