About Emma
Hi, I’m Emma—an Honors college graduate with a degree in Biochemistry: Concentration in Research. I am currently working on my Master's in Education. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and can accommodate for either language. I am a certified CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) tutor with several years of experience as both a teaching assistant for college scientific labs and a private tutor in biology and chemistry. In addition to teaching, I’ve held leadership roles in academic and clinical settings, where I’ve led teams, mentored students, and presented original research to panels of doctors, professors, and researchers.

My method focuses on making complex concepts approachable through real-world examples, analogies, and visual aids that help students truly understand—not just memorize—the material.
Each session begins with a quick review of previous topics to build continuity, followed by a tailored lesson based on the student's curriculum or goals. I break content into manageable segments and use active recall, pictures, and practice problems to reinforce understanding. We end with a short quiz or discussion to gauge retention and identify areas to revisit.
My teaching style blends academic rigor with encouragement and clarity. I specialize in breaking down complex scientific concepts into manageable, relatable lessons that build student confidence and critical thinking. I create a learning environment that is structured yet flexible—tailored to each student’s needs, goals, and learning style.
Whether you're a high school student tackling normal or AP Biology or Chemistry, a college student navigating core science courses, or preparing for a future in healthcare or research, I’m here to help you succeed with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
