About Sophie
Hello, I’m Sophie! I’m a high school student who is very passionate about learning in a wide range of areas, from literature to STEM to the arts. I’ve received excellent grades in all academic subjects throughout my schooling, and I participate in a number of co-curricular activities such as debating, art classes, playing electric guitar in bands, tennis, and choir.
Some of my achievements include:
- Competing in regional and state Tournament of Minds
- Highly commended in the Young Archies portrait competition
- Winning the SDN debating grand finals
- Winning my school’s ‘doing da Vinci day’ competition
- NSW Department of Education WriteOn winner
- A* in GSCE Cambridge World Literature
In terms of teaching experience, I have years of paid and volunteer experience from ages 6-14, and I enjoy the opportunity to help other students maximise their potential whilst keeping lessons fun and stress-free.

The content would be based around what the student is learning at school. My teaching style centres around the grasping of core concepts in a way in which they can be applied to other situations, with clear explanations and relevant examples, as well as homework/assignment help and advice. However, the teaching techniques would be tailored to each student’s individual needs, as I understand that each student has a different learning style. My lessons would also involve strategies to improve time management and maximise individual studying and learning, as it was something I struggled a lot with myself in my early years, and have now consolidated a lot of valuable information about.
