I believe that students are unique and should have an educational environment that stimulates their natural curiosity and helps them to discover their enthusiasm for learning. It is important to me to create an atmosphere in which students can meet their full potential. My objective has always been to encourage critical thinking and my students are invited to share their thoughts and ideas at any time. I believe there are a few essential elements that are most important to make a learning experience be successful: Firstly, the teacher is first and foremost a guide to students. That is why I let my students try out exercises and activities first before I offer solutions. Secondly, the students’ exercises must have a connection to their actual lives. I found out that highly artificial activities which merely focus on drill and patterns do not promote the students’ engagement in learning. Besides, students should be allowed to choose what they want to learn in which order and let their curiosity direct their learning. Lastly, I strongly believe that technology must be incorporated into every learning experience. We live in a highly digitalized world. This is why I use this opportunity to combine fun and learning to help the students to reach their full potential.
