About Marissa
I am a certified elementary and special educator, working for the past 3.5 years in schools around Denver, CO, and prior in low-income areas in Philadelphia, PA. As I've always been fascinated with the English language, I am super excited to have gained my certification to teach English as a foreign language and hope to go abroad in the near future! I'd love to start down this new path and offer my knowledge teaching the language!

My approach to teaching is mostly student-centered, in that the students play an active role in their learning process. In this approach, based on formal and informal assessments, it is my job to guide and facilitate learning for my students. My approach is also based highly upon universal design for learning, incorporating multiple means of learning and expressing information, so as to reach a diverse group learners.
