About Nisha

Hi there! I’m an Ontario Certified Teacher with a degree in Applied Linguistics and a minor in ASL from Carleton University. I’m passionate about creating inclusive, engaging, and personalized learning experiences that build both skills and confidence. With experience as an Educational Assistant and ABA Therapist, I’ve supported students across a range of learning needs—including ESL and special education. I completed my teacher education in April 2025 and bring a positive, energetic approach to every session. Outside of teaching, I enjoy crocheting during my downtime. I’ve been crocheting since 2022 and love sharing this creative skill with friends and students. It truly is my passion.

About the lesson

I love sharing crocheting with others through fun, hands-on lessons. I’ve taught crochet to individual students, led workshops, introduced crochet to my practicum class, and even run my own crochet market booth, selling plushies, accessories, and keychains. These experiences coupled with my OCT certification, have shaped a teaching approach that’s patient, approachable, and tailored to each learner’s pace and interests.

My approach is patient and encouraging. I break down stitches and patterns into easy-to-follow steps using clear instructions and visual demonstrations. Whether you’re just starting or want to build on your skills, I focus on helping you feel confident and excited about what you’re creating.

A typical lesson includes:
- A quick review of previous stitches or techniques.
- Step-by-step guidance on new stitches or pattern.
- Time to practice with live feedback and encouragement.
- Tips for fixing mistakes and building independence.

What sets me apart is my ability to adapt my lessons for all learners. I’ve worked with kids and teens in classroom and one-on-one settings, and I design lessons based on age, experience, and personal goals. My crochet tutoring is ideal for beginners of all ages, students looking for a new hobby, or anyone looking for a creative outlet!
