About Tanisha
My day job is consulting: I work with school districts around the country to improve schooling structures and teacher development. I love my job, but found myself missing the experience of living in France and speaking in French every day! So, this is an opportunity for me to continue strengthening my relationship with French now that I'm back in the U.S.
I have lived and worked in France through the TAPIF program, where I taught students at all levels in Bourgoin-Jallieu! It was an amazing experience that allowed me to fall in love with teaching languages, and truly master French. I am still in touch with my students and colleagues at Lycée Oiselet and I can't wait to visit soon.
I also speak a host of Indian languages - Hindi, Bengali, and Gujarati - thanks to an early childhood growing up in Mumbai before my family emigrated. I now live in Chicago, and am always looking for opportunities to practice all my languages.

I am trained in pedagogy and effective language instruction from Johns Hopkins University, and have previously taught at all levels to students ranging from ages 4- 64!
As a teacher, I focus on individualizing my instruction to the unique needs of my student. I care a lot about creating a fun and engaging atmosphere for learning, and am willing to dive into whatever my student needs to focus on.
