About Trish

Choosing the right teacher is very important. Learning any language is a journey that the student and teacher take together. If you like a teacher and get along with them it makes learning more enjoyable. Any teacher can teach lessons...but ask yourself, Who would you like to learn from? A balance of fun and learning is easy to achieve when the student and teacher are working together towards a clear goal. Just like students, all teachers are different. That is a good thing because we don't all learn in the same way. Finding the right teacher will help you to speak English confidently and achieve your goals. The right teacher is one who brings out the best in you and someone you enjoy working with. If possible, spend your first session talking to them about yourself and what you need. Of course the main aim is learning to speak the language effectively, but it can be a fun and exciting adventure working with the right teacher.

About the lesson

Lessons are created for each student and centered around their individual needs. Students are encouraged to give feedback, ask questions and be actively involved in their learning. Activities and lessons can be structured to complement their school curriculum and help them with current challenges that they may be experiencing. Learning to speak English as a second language can be fun. Wherever possible, lessons contain enjoyable content that allows the student to see the process as an adventure. All lessons are presented in English and some homework may be given when needed. The focus is on speaking and communicating effectively. It is vital that the learner knows how the language will help them in real life and feel comfortable using it. We never stop learning in life. A good teacher learns with their students and values their thoughts and opinions. An excellent teacher guides a student on their path of knowledge, giving them the tools and support, so that they can express themselves with confidence. I am comfortable teaching younger and older learners. It depends on their individual needs and preferences. My preference is teaching individual learners and small groups. Teaching individual lessons and small groups allows for more personalized learning and attention to the student's particular needs.
