About Matthew
Education
I am a Part 2 Architectural Assistant with more than 4 years experience in practice. I received a 1st class undergraduate degree with honours and a Merit class as a postgraduate, receiving a distinction grade for my portfolio, from Newcastle University.
Tutoring
While at university I was involved in the mentoring programme helping individuals whenever they might have questions about their project work.
Practice
I started my career as a Part 1 in a top 10 AJ100 practice and since then have worked for a variety of practices of different sizes scaling from 4 people to 300 people. My Part 2 experience includes working for a top 40 practice and a top 60 practice according to the AJ100. I have worked in a variety of sectors including; education, health care and laboratories with most of my experience being in the residential sector.

I carry out lessons for my students to help with their undergraduate degree design projects and CVs. I aim to help my students feel confident in their own work and abilities by going over their designs, giving feedback and support as they work through their design projects. I am friendly and patient and aim to work with my students so they have clear objectives by the end of the lesson/ tutorial.
Lessons are planned depending on students needs, however below are some suggestions on what we can cover;
1. Design Project Tutoring
We will review your design project work and portfolio, provide ideas, precedents and feedback to develop your narrative and project.
2. CV Workshop and Job Application Portfolio review
We can go over the work you are planning to send in with your application to potential employers. As I have been hired by several prestiges architectural practices who have given me feedback on my CV, I am confident in my ability to provide you with a good onsite to what employers are looking for.
