About William
I am a chartered architect and published author. I hold RIBA Chartered Architect and ARB Registered Architect status and have been in professional practice for over thirty-seven years. I formed my own practice in 1990 and have delivered numerous types of projects under traditional construction contracts.
I know what it takes to design and a deliver a project through all the various stages, from concept design and through the planning stages to completion on site, with all the contract subtleties that go with the entire project delivery process.
My practice has also delivered specialist building projects employing Prefabricated and Modular Architecture (PAMA) where specialist contract arrangements are required. I also have specialist design and manufacturing expertise and experience in prefabricated and modular systems and have a PhD. in this architectural design specialism.
With a team of up to eighteen architectural colleagues we have designed and delivered many projects to completion including schools, university, libraries, housing, hotels, sports centres, offices and commercial projects.
My practice facilitated students who joined us for their year-out work experience requirement. With the tuition they received, they returned to their Part 2 architectural studies better prepared, organised, and equipped with design strategies to tackle their projects with a greater design maturity.
In practice I personally mentor our graduate students seeking to complete their Part 3 professional practice exam. I engage with great graduates who are serious about their architectural careers, and I love to share what I know with up and coming architects. Some now have their own architects practice.
I have the correct level of experience, expertise, and know-how necessary to prepare you properly for your Part 3 Case Study submission and oral examination.

I have been mentoring and tutoring architecture students in my practice for over fifteen years.
I provide a very friendly work orientated student environment. I understand why students need help. So I make a point of identifying with my students the precise areas where they need my assistance. I set out the plan of action and highlight what added value I can bring to achieve my students objectives.
Part 1 and Part 2 Students
With many experience in private practice, I have organised and managed numerous types projects from interpreting the Design Briefs to delivery the Design Solutions. Let me take your anxiety away and help you get organised and become a super productive designer who is in total control of the design process.
I now offer one to one tuition and expertise to Part 1 and Part 2 architect students and interior design students where concept design organisation and presentation is required to get the job done for your project submission.
Part 3 Professional Practice Students
I offer one to one tuition expertise to Part 3 students seeking assistance in structuring their Case Study and preparing students for their oral exam.
I will help you to unwind all of the knowledge and work experience you already have so as to maximize your case study impact.
• Students sometimes fail to realise the real value of their project involvement and contributions, and how to make the most of what they have for their Case Study.
• Some students are unable to identify and describe the value of these work experiences.
• Other Students need some direction and guidance in how best to demonstrate what they have learned from their project experience and how best to present this within their Case Study Submission to maximum affect.
If you have not already identified your Part 3 Project, I can assist you with your selection process. I will then ask pertinent questions to help you assess the extent of your involvement in your particular project at a micro level. I will drill into your project history with you, event by event, show and highlight for you exactly the actual contribution you have made to your selected project. I will then show you how to make proper use of this valuable information for your Case Study Submission in a very meaningful and impactful way.
I will be detail specific on many levels in order to ensure the full extent your project involvement is properly exposed, recorded, and evidenced, in your case study submission.
As part of your Part 3 tuition with me, you will be tutored in how best to identify which aspects of your project experiences can be employed to produce your comprehensive RIBA/ARB Case Study submission. I will also focus on assisting you to prepare for your oral examination because, both your Case Study and your Oral Exam are directly connected. I will show you how.
With this intensive one to one approach in a friendly working environment, you will develop a clearer sense of your true value from your project involvement. You will be better able to demonstrate this, not only in your project case study but in your oral exam also with greater confidence. You will better able to articulate how you contributed to the various project outcomes and be better equipped to plan a strategy for your oral exam. I will show you how to do this.
With my detailed and focused approach, you will also become more confident about your ability to function as a qualified architect and thereby, you be better prepared and organised in your mind how to manage your oral examination process on that day too.
I would like you to take advantage of a free session with me. There is no obligation on you whatsoever. This free session will give you an ideal opportunity to discuss your gaols and aspirations and let us decide together, what would be your next best step. I look forward to collaborating with you.

During my part 3, and as it was during the height of the pandemic, tutorial sessions were very limited. After I did not make the grade I sought mentorship from William who guided me, assisted me with putting my case study together in a manner which satisfied the module.
William made the time and arranged meetings where he guided me through each section of the case study and explained in depth each of the riba stages as it relates to my particular project. William was prepared to go above and beyond to schedule meetings as often as needed, something which I lacked with my previous tutor. He diligently took me through the role of a contract administrator, Employers agent and the significant role of an architect. He also thoroughly explained the various contracts and their benefits.
William helped me to deliver a case study which showed thorough understanding of the Riba work stages, the role of the architect, the benefits of a tender process, mobilisation etc. I was able to submit a case study which showed good understanding of the project in its entirety, a testament to Williams knowledge in the field of architecture.
In addition, he gave me much needed golden nuggets; interview techniques one being to ensure that I focus and discuss areas of the project that I am particularly most confident into elaborate on, along with solid examples as evidence to demonstrate a good understanding.
William has helped me immensely in my part 3 and if it wasn’t for his attention to detail, years of experience in the field and the compassion to pass down much needed knowledge to the up and coming architects I think it would have been a very different outcome. I owe a huge gratitude to William for his exceptional guidance and mentoring through the toughest time of of the architectural course as it was during the pandemic.
I would definitely recommend William over and over again due to his passion, commitment, experience, in the field and his solid work ethic; including the fact that the examiners were very impressed with both my interview and case study submission. Thanks to Williams guidance I am now a fully fledged part 3 architect.
I had the pleasure of working in William’s architectural practice as a student. William mentored me personally and introduced me to the realities of what it takes to function as an architect. He has unique skills in tutoring architect students and I am grateful to William for helping me focus on the task in hand, get organised, and deliver the project as part of a team.
With my Part 3 Case Study, I needed particular help with organising a clear strategy. William understood immediately what needed to be done and where to make a positive start. He took me through each aspect of the case study requirements and oversaw my progress until its completion. I was especially impressed by the way William tutored me for my oral examination. He made me realise the actual significance of my involvement in my project and the value of the contribution I made to it, which was a crucial element for my oral exam preparation.

As a student, William was always keen to make sure that I was exposed to the correct type of work experience and when it came to taking my Part 3 Qualification I was personally assisted by William who took a personal interest in my preparation for the Part 3 Qualification.
We decided on the most appropriate project which I contributed to in a meaningful way. Because of this level of in-depth exposure to project management, I was well prepared for my oral examination. Working with William was an amazing experience. He is the most competent architect I have ever worked with during my professional career. He is a very friendly individual and hence the working environment that he created for his colleagues.
He helped me a lot on the projects right from concept design through to all stages of the design process. I was really impressed the way he thinks about a project and stage manage it so profoundly that a complex project would become very much easy. The details that William sketch for even the engineers and the on-site contractors were amazing providing a very comprehensive 3D understanding.
William has a real passion for architectural education and he really wishes to impart it to the young architects. He has also been author of some very exciting books with few more to come.
I learnt a lot from William and I am proudly using the experience that I have gained working with him. I wish all the future architects find someone like William during their career that could mentor and polish their skills.
