About Elliott

Hello! I'm Elliott, a First-Class Film Studies graduate from King's College London and an incoming Master's student in Film Aesthetics at the University of Oxford. I have experience tutoring GCSE and A Level students in English Literature, English Language and Film Studies, alongside my work as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant in a primary school.

I have always enjoyed helping others develop confidence in reading, writing and critical thinking. I believe that the best learning happens when students feel comfortable asking questions and are encouraged to think independently, rather than simply memorising model answers.

Whether you're preparing for exams, aiming for top grades or looking to improve your essay writing, I provide patient, supportive and well-structured tuition tailored to your individual goals. My aim is not only to improve results but also to help students develop skills that will benefit them throughout their education.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to their individual strengths, goals and areas for improvement. Whether you're aiming to boost your confidence, prepare for GCSE or A Level exams, or refine university-level essay writing, I focus on developing clear analytical thinking, effective revision strategies and strong written communication.

I hold a First-Class degree in Film Studies from King's College London and will shortly begin a Master's in Film Aesthetics at the University of Oxford. Alongside private tutoring, I work as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, giving me extensive experience adapting my teaching style to suit a wide range of learners. In short, I have a strong academic pedigree, online and in-person tutoring experience, and full-time classroom experience.

Lessons are typically one hour and combine close textual analysis, essay planning, exam technique and constructive feedback. Rather than relying on memorisation alone, I help students understand why texts, arguments and techniques work, enabling them to write with greater confidence and independence.

I teach GCSE and A Level English Literature, English Language and Film Studies, as well as offering support with undergraduate essays and dissertations
