About Maia
Hello, I'm Maia (they/them)! I'm in the final year of my Computer Science degree and am working towards being a game developer. I have several years' worth of tutoring experience, including working for two different tutoring companies, as well as tutoring my peers in middle and high school.
I am nonbinary and bisexual. I'm very passionate about LGBTQ+ rights! I really want to provide a safe opportunity for anyone to learn more about the gay and trans community.

CANADA ONLY. FREE consultation prior to our first paid lesson! This consultation is just as much for you as it is for me. It's a chance for you to decide whether you feel comfortable enough to ask me whatever questions you have, and it's a chance for me to gauge whether you're actually here to learn or here to intentionally insult me.
One thing I've heard from a lot of people is: "I feel like I can't ask any questions without someone getting upset or offended." I want to give you the chance to ask those questions! Allow me to respectfully and non-judgmentally give you the answers you're looking for. If you say/ask something that's rude or offensive, don't worry! I'll calmly let you know, and explain why, no hard feelings. I'm coming into this conversation from an educational standpoint rather than an emotional one.
This class IS for people who:
- are genuinely curious
- want to better understand a loved-one
- feel overwhelmed by the terminology used
- want to learn but worry about saying the wrong thing
This class IS NOT for people who:
- are looking for a debate
- aren't open to seeing things from another perspective

- why is everyone shoving their sexuality in my face?
- what does 2SLGBTQIA+ mean? Why not just use LGBT?
- can my child get brainwashed into being gay or trans?

- why do people get mad when I say/ask ____?
- what can I do to support the LGBTQ+ people in my life?
- how am I supposed to completely change how I see someone I've known for years?
- how can you still be bisexual if you're dating someone or married?
- how can I learn more on my own?
