About George

As a producer, I have been releasing music commercially for around 18 years, mainly on the major Drum and Bass record labels such as Metalheadz and Hospital Records. I have also written 3 well-received albums and been involved in many collaborative projects.

Over the years I have worked in countless different studios and practiced a wide variety of different production techniques which has put me in a great position to teach!

As a teacher, I have a wealth of experience behind me. My first position after completing my teaching diploma was at London's leading music production collage Point Blank where I was their 'Introduction To Ableton Live' course tutor. I am also a regular tutor at various different studios in London.

I am as passionate about teaching and sharing my expertise as I am about producing music. I find it deeply rewarding to watch young producers develop their identity and their sound. Music is such a personal thing, so it's always so interesting and often really surprised to listen to how each student adapts the knowledge you have taught them.

My students can expect to walk away with much more than just textbook music production skills. I take great pride in nurturing young producers and helping them find their feet in the music industry. I will provide help and advice to them with everything from what equipment to invest into what record labels they should approach and will continue to mentor them long after their course is finished.

About the lesson

Learning something new can be a daunting idea. Especially with something like music. There is so much to learn! So much amazing music out there already. “How could i ever shine in such an established industry” The answer is simple, by being yourself. By concentrating on original ideas you can rewrite the rule books. This philosophy is at the heart of my tuition.

After many years as both a professional music producer and as a teacher I have developed a wide range of approaches to teaching the art of electronic music production. My lessons and courses are structured and will leave you with all the relevant skills you need to write music to a professional level. I am happy to teach complete beginners right through to highly experienced producers looking to fine tune their skills.

My courses are 100% tailored to you, based on your skill level and learning style, which is one of the huge benefits of learning 1-2-1. So as a complete beginner we can focus your learning around your musical tastes and inspirations and for more advanced producers I can create a course that focuses specifically on areas you feel need improvement.
So, after our initial consultation, which will establish where you come from musically, what it is you are trying to achieve, what experience you already have etc. I can go away and create a structured course that will challenge you and bring out your best music.

I have a scheduling system the means that you can find the most convenient time of day/week for your lessons. I will also introduce you to my school WhatsApp group where my students discuss techniques and upload their music for constructive feedback.

Lessons are conducted very conveniently via Zoom. Meaning we can freely share our screens and talk to one another in realtime. We also record each lesson which proves to be a huge benefit to my students as they can go back and go over challenging techniques in their own time.

This first lesson offered with George will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

I charge 70aud for a 2h hour lesson and i only book these in blocks of 5 or 10.
I do this so that i can build a course around your specific needs and it give us enough time to really learn and gain some proper skills!
