About Manahil

Hola, I am Manahil, a final-year Translation and Interpretation student, specialising in English and Spanish. Over the past few years, I have built a strong academic foundation in Spanish through a Certificate, Diploma, and Baccalaureate, all focused on language, culture, and translation. My journey has included a 10-week course on Contemporary Latin American Literature, several seminars and webinars on Spanish culture, and a subtitling competition organised by my department, which have all sharpened my linguistic skills and cultural awareness.
Alongside my studies, I have 3 years of experience teaching Spanish online, supporting GCSE Spanish learners in the UK and middle school/secondary students following the US curriculum. I have helped students improve their grades, build solid grammar foundations, expand their vocabulary, and gain confidence in speaking and listening through interactive, real-life based activities. Working with different age groups and academic systems has taught me how to adapt my teaching style and materials to each student’s needs, school requirements, and learning pace.
As a tutor, I offer patient, personalised support for beginners and intermediate learners who want to build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. About the lesson

My lessons are interactive and student-centred: we will practise Spanish through conversation, role-plays, short texts, and real-life scenarios so that you can use the language with confidence, not just recognise it in a book. I like to include authentic materials such as short videos, songs, simple articles, or cultural snippets to make the language come alive and connect it with Hispanic culture.
We will work on all four skills – speaking, listening, reading, and writing – but I will always prioritise the areas you feel least confident in, whether that is grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, or exam-style tasks. I provide clear explanations and structured practice, followed by guided activities where you can apply what you have learned immediately.
In our first lesson, we will start by discussing your goals, current level, and any specific exams or courses you are working towards (such as GCSE or A-level Spanish or US secondary school Spanish or IB Spanish etc.). Together, we will set clear, realistic objectives so that every class feels purposeful and aligned with your needs.
Feedback is a key part of my teaching: during and after activities, I will gently correct mistakes, highlight your strengths, and show you exactly how to improve. You will receive targeted tips for exams (for example, how to approach GCSE-style questions or US classroom assessments) and personalised exercises to support your progress between lessons.
You can expect light but meaningful homework after most sessions – short writing tasks, vocabulary practice, or listening activities – always tailored to your interests and schedule. My aim is to create a calm, encouraging environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and gradually becoming more independent in Spanish. Whether you are preparing for an exam or simply building your skills step by step, our lessons will be organised, supportive, and designed around you.
