About Elena
I am a professional pianist and piano teacher with more than 20 years of teaching experience.
My background combines serious musical training, performance experience, and long-term pedagogical work. I graduated from Moscow Conservatory College and later continued my studies at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. Over the years, I have performed in different countries, taken part in festivals and competitions, and worked with students of different ages and levels.
Teaching has always been a central part of my work. I teach piano as a structured musical discipline, not as a collection of tricks or isolated pieces. My approach is rooted in the Russian school: careful technical foundation, deep work with sound, clarity of musical thinking, and gradual development of independence.
In lessons, I help students connect technique, reading, coordination, sound, musical understanding, and expression into one coherent whole. Music should make sense from within. When a student understands how a phrase is built, where it is going, how harmony supports it, and how the body helps produce the sound, playing becomes freer, more reliable, and more expressive.
I work especially well with thoughtful students who want more than casual coaching: adult beginners who want a solid foundation, returning pianists rebuilding their playing after a break, and students preparing for exams who need serious, structured guidance.
My lessons are online only and designed for students who value depth, consistency, and high-quality individual work.

My lessons are built for students who want clear guidance, steady progress, and a serious musical approach.
I usually work with:
Adult beginners
For adults who want to start properly from the beginning, with real understanding rather than rushed shortcuts. We build reading, rhythm, coordination, hand organisation, sound, and musical sense step by step.
Returning pianists
For students who learned in the past and want to rebuild their playing in a more conscious and organised way. This often includes restoring technical balance, improving reading, and developing a more mature understanding of music.
Intermediate and advanced students
For students who already play and want more structure, better control, deeper interpretation, and higher artistic quality in their work.
ABRSM students
For students preparing for ABRSM practical exams who need careful, well-organised preparation: repertoire work, technical security, musical detail, and a more convincing overall performance.
My teaching is especially suitable for students who are ready to think, listen, observe, and work consistently. I do not teach as background entertainment, and I do not promise instant results. The aim is solid development: better playing, better understanding, and greater independence over time.
Lessons are adapted individually, but the general principles remain the same: structure, clarity, musical logic, and attention to quality.
I also offer additional formats for students who need more targeted support:
Diagnostic lesson
A one-off lesson to assess current level, identify key problems, and outline the next steps.
Video assessment
A detailed review of a recorded performance or practice video, with feedback on technique, sound, coordination, and musical work.
Strategic consultation
For students or parents who need professional guidance on repertoire choice, exam planning, practice structure, or longer-term study direction.
All lessons are conducted online.

As an adult with a demanding schedule, I needed lessons that were genuinely worth the time and concentration they require. Elena’s are exactly that. They are rigorous, focused and beautifully thought through, but never mechanical. What surprised me most was the emotional effect: once the music became clearer in structure and intention, it also became more personal and more rewarding to play.
My son was preparing for ABRSM and needed more than routine coaching. Elena brought a level of seriousness and musical intelligence that immediately raised the standard of his work. She was attentive to detail, but never in a narrow way: everything was connected to style, character and communication. His playing became more assured, more expressive, and far more convincing as a performance.
What I appreciate most is that Elena does not create dependence. She gives extremely precise guidance, but always in a way that teaches you how to think and practise for yourself. Between lessons I no longer feel lost. I know what I am trying to achieve, how to listen for it, and how to correct my own work. That independence has made playing much more enjoyable and much less anxious.
I had previously worked with teachers who were either encouraging but vague, or technically exact without much musical imagination. Elena is rare in combining both. Her lessons are highly structured, yet everything serves expression. I now understand far more clearly how technique, timing and sound work together to create something persuasive for the listener, rather than merely correct.
What changed most for me was not only the quality of my playing, but the way I hear music now. Elena teaches phrasing as something alive and intentional, not decorative. She helped me move away from playing note by note and towards shaping a real musical thought. For an adult student returning to the piano, that has been both intellectually satisfying and unexpectedly moving.
It’s a rare online experience that actually feels premium. The lessons are methodical without being rigid, detailed without being overwhelming. I find myself reflecting on the material between sessions, thinking through phrasing, articulation, and dynamics. The guidance is precise, and there’s a subtle encouragement to experiment musically, which I find exhilarating. I never expected an online lesson to provoke such deliberate thought about interpretation and style.
I’ve tried various online teachers before, but this experience is truly distinctive. From the very first lesson, there’s a sense that everything has been carefully planned. Exercises are explained thoroughly, and yet there’s room for personal interpretation. By the second week, I noticed subtle improvements in phrasing and touch that I hadn’t achieved in years of traditional lessons. What I particularly appreciate is the balance between challenge and encouragement — never feeling rushed, yet always pushed slightly beyond comfort. It’s rare to find that combination online. I even began exploring pieces I never thought I’d dare to try.
I appreciate how organised the lessons are. It makes practice much more focused.
Each lesson is tailored to my goals and level. Elena provides detailed feedback and practical strategies that I can apply immediately. My technique and interpretive skills have grown steadily.
Elena combines performance insight with rigorous methodology. I now approach polyphonic pieces with confidence, something I previously avoided. Her guidance is exceptionally clear and effective.
Thanks to Elena, I have reorganised my previous piano studies into a coherent system. My progress is clear and measurable, and my understanding of music has deepened
Elena’s lessons are structured and precise. My technique and musical interpretation have advanced significantly in a short time, and I feel fully confident performing solo repertoire
