About Jayde

Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began learning instruments at just five years old, and nearly 20 years later, my passion for music continues to grow.

Over the years, I’ve developed experience playing flute, violin and piano, alongside singing and performing. I’m also currently learning guitar and ukulele because I believe there’s always something new to discover in music, no matter how experienced you are.

One of my proudest musical achievements was performing for the world press at the Commonwealth Games. I’ve also recorded original music and continue to write my own songs today, exploring different sounds, styles and ways to express myself creatively.

My experience across different instruments, live performances, recording and songwriting has given me a well-rounded musical background and a strong appreciation for how music theory connects to creativity.

What I love most about music is that there’s no single way to experience or understand it. Everyone learns differently, and I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging and adapted to the individual.

I’m still a student of music myself, and I think that’s one of the most valuable things I can bring to teaching. I understand what it’s like to learn something completely new, work through challenges and experience that exciting moment when something finally clicks.

Whether you’re picking up music for the first time, learning to read sheet music or simply wanting to understand the music you love, I’d love to help you build your confidence and discover your own musical potential.

For me, music isn’t just about playing the right notes. It’s about creativity, expression and finding joy in the process of learning.

My lessons are designed to make music theory simple, enjoyable and approachable, especially for beginners who are learning to read sheet music or want to strengthen their musical foundations.

I’ve been reading sheet music since I was five years old and have experience playing flute, violin and piano, as well as performing as a vocalist.

Each lesson is tailored to your individual experience, confidence and learning goals. Rather than simply memorising information, I focus on helping you understand how music works and how to apply that knowledge.

Topics we can explore include:

* Reading sheet music and recognising notes
* Treble clef and introductory bass clef
* Rhythm, note values, rests and time signatures
* Scales and key signatures
* Musical symbols, dynamics and articulation
* Understanding and interpreting musical pieces

What to expect:

Lessons are conducted online using screen sharing, visual examples and interactive exercises. I’ll work at your pace, explain concepts in different ways and provide opportunities to practise what you’ve learned.

Whether you’re completely new to music, returning after a break or struggling to understand sheet music, my goal is to help you build confidence and develop skills you can use independently.

Lesson duration: 30 or 60 minutes.

Who I teach: Beginners and students wanting to strengthen their foundational music theory knowledge.
