About David

I'm David Damar, a Colombian guitarist, singer, and music producer based in Queens, NY, with a Master's in Music (Jazz, Pop and Latin Styles) from Universidad Sergio Arboleda. I've played guitar professionally for 15+ years — on stage, in recording studios, on film and TV soundtracks, and across Pop, Rock, Latin, Jazz, and Funk genres. For over 10 years, I've been teaching students of all levels, from absolute beginners picking up a guitar for the first time to intermediate players who want to break through a plateau and finally understand what they're playing. My method is modern, direct, and completely personalized. No wasted time, no one-size-fits-all exercises — just the skills you need to play the music you love.

About the lesson

Guitar lessons built around your goals, your taste, and your pace — not a generic curriculum.

In each session, we work on:
• Technique: picking, strumming patterns, fingerpicking, chord transitions, and clean fretting
• Music theory applied to the guitar: scales, chord voicings, and progressions that actually make sense
• Your favorite genres: Pop, Rock, Latin rhythms, Bossa Nova, Funk, Blues — whatever excites you
• Improvisation and soloing: learn to express yourself freely on the fretboard
• Songwriting through the guitar: use your instrument as a creative and compositional tool
• Reading charts, tabs, and basic notation to become a self-sufficient player

Each lesson starts with a quick review of your goals, focuses on your current challenge, applies new concepts to real music, and ends with a clear practice plan for the week. Personalized materials and video references are included.

Whether you've never touched a guitar or you've been playing for years and want to finally understand the theory behind what you're doing — this method works at any level.
