About Matt

I’m a qualified Spanish teacher and current examiner for AQA and Edexcel, specialising in helping learners reach their full potential at GCSE and A-Level. Every student is different, so my lessons are tailored to each learner’s goals, learning style, and level of confidence. I focus on creating a supportive, structured environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Together, we build exam skills, fluency, and a genuine understanding of Spanish — not just memorising vocabulary, but learning how to think and express ideas naturally. Seeing learners grow in confidence, improve their marks, and realise how capable they truly are is the best part of my work. My aim is to make every lesson purposeful, motivating, and enjoyable.

About the lesson

I teach Spanish for GCSE and A-Level students who want structure, confidence, and real exam success. My lessons are examiner-led, based on the same assessment criteria used by AQA and Edexcel, so every session builds the exact skills students need to reach higher grades. Each class combines guided speaking practice, grammar in context, and exam-style tasks with personalised feedback. I use authentic resources, interactive activities, and clear correction techniques to make learning both engaging and results-driven. As a qualified teacher and current GCSE & A-Level examiner, I understand precisely how marks are awarded and what separates a top-band answer from a good one. This allows me to teach students how to think like examiners, not just how to memorise vocabulary.

He knows how to identify the faults I have to later work on them. The classes are pleasant, fun and interesting. Each class is different. After, he sends you a document with the errors, corrections and points of improvement. 100% recommended. I do not want another teacher.

As a language teacher myself I can say that I have learned a lot from Matt. He is engaging, interactive, the lessons are well structured and he keeps it moving, plus it is always relevant. He gives me plenty of speaking time, as a total beginner I find that great and at the end we go over my mistakes and make sure I am satisfied with the pronunciation which is very important in the beginning.
