About Fiorella
Personalized online flute lessons with Fiorella Camilleri, Sub-Principal Flutist of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, are available for beginner to intermediate students worldwide. Lessons can be 45 or 60 minutes, depending on the student’s age, level and goals.
A typical lesson includes a combination of warm-up and breathing exercises, tone production, scales and technical exercises, articulation, sight-reading and repertoire. Students receive clear guidance and practical exercises to develop good technique, musicality and confidence.
For beginners, I use established flute methods such as Trevor Wye – Beginner’s Book for the Flute, Taffanel & Gaubert – 17 Daily Exercises and The Rubank Elementary Method, adapted to the student’s level. Intermediate students can progress to Trevor Wye Practice Books, Moyse, Taffanel & Gaubert and appropriate studies and technical exercises.
Repertoire is chosen according to each student’s interests and ability and may include classical pieces, film music, popular songs, traditional music and contemporary repertoire. Students are encouraged to explore music they enjoy while developing a strong technical and musical foundation.
