About Jess
️A self-motivated, passionate and well-organised professional with experience in teaching young learners. Recently a primary school teacher with a proven 9 year record of supporting children to progress and develop academically as well as personally, fostering the appropriate skills, particularly language and understanding, I now work online specialising in teaching English as a foreign language. A highly effective and influential native English speaker now looking for additional students to teach English as a foreign language online and learn about other cultures around the world.
️ I now teach English speaking, early reading and early spelling online to students outside of the UK and have been teaching online since April 2021. Although I currently live in the UK, I ensure that teaching from a distance is fun, engaging and inspiring. Teaching is about the children and I believe that establishing good relationships, having patience and through the use of Total Physical Response, visuals, positive praise and encouragement enables young learners to blossom throughout their English language journey. ️

I teach a sequential structured approach to phonics and English that enables young learners to speak, read and spell from an early age. I can also provide catch up sequences of lessons to children who are in need of some booster phonics sessions. This may be due to the pandemic resulting in fewer days in the classroom, therefore ages 4 - 12 + years are welcome.
