About Melissa

I’m a graduate of George Brown College, Graphic Design program in Toronto, ON. As well, completing the Art and Design Foundations program.

I have over 8 years industry knowledge and experience working with top tier brands in print design, UI/UX digital design, motion graphics and creative direction.

About the lesson

Projects get overwhelming when we are not looking at them in the right way. The best designs don’t take long because they are built around the right strategy.

Let’s brake down the program and condition yourself to build a plan for your workflow to become a better design thinker and build a portfolio filled with strong strategic projects with thoughtful messaging as well as being visually appealing.

I can help you with:

- Weekly projects
- Year end projects
- Thesis
- Portfolio review
- Proposal writing

Proficient in the Adobe Suite and willing to give lessons in the following programs:

- InDesign
- Illustrator
- Photoshop
- After Effects

Other areas I can support:

- Give you insight on what it takes to be a freelancer in design
- Explain the power of telling a story through messaging and design
- Breakdown a creative brief and build strong strategies to begin a project
- Breakdown the process of a client proposal presentation
- Insight what it’s like to work with backend developers as a front end designer

We can meet in person, work remotely over the web, email and/or phone chat. We can add each other to Skype and can screen share at convenient and not so convenient times when you might need help the most. I understand, as a student, a lot of your designing happens last minute and I’m flexible to that.
