About Lizzie

I am a student studying through The Open University, with aims of completing a Master's degree following from my Bachelor's. I have always had a strong point for teaching and bringing in different viewpoints of subjects, as someone who myself typically struggled with how things are taught in schools, I used my own approach and adaptations in lessons to make it easier for myself and increasing my grades. I am currently a member of the RAF Air Cadets where I have been appointed head of training at my Squadron, and am responsible for creating lesson plans, learning material and appointing and guiding fellow instructors. I aim to create a space where students feel comfortable to approach me with their struggles on subjects and not to create a negative environment, by doing this, I will ensure all of my students are able to understand and work with the subjects whilst keeping on track with the SQA CfE. I have a valid PVG and this can be shared with you upon contact.

About the lesson

I will be following the SQA Curriculum for Excellence used by all Scottish schools. Lessons will be provided hourly, with sessions maxing at 2 hours. I have teaching qualifications and volunteered as a tutor after school during my exam periods and over holidays. I have experience and praise for my ability in adapting lessons to suit an individual and will use time during a first session as a "get to know" and start with easy tasks and activities to break the ice. I aim to accommodate everyone of all ages wishing to achieve any level up to National 5 English.
