About Tamsin

My name is Tamsin Davis and I am currently studying Psychology BSc at University. I am 19 years old and have 10 GCSE and 3 A Level qualifications. I have always had an interest in helping others and thought tutoring was the best way to project my interests and passions to teach others. I wanted to tutor Primary and early Secondary School English because throughout years at school, I have learnt how to simplify challenging tasks and information to make them understandable. Therefore, I think I am an ideal candidate to help explain difficult concepts in the simplest way. My hobbies include music, theatre, shopping, reading and spending time with family and friends.

About the lesson

I believe every pupil is different; therefore, I aim to make every session unique depending on their requirements and needs. This would involve incorporating the pupils' hobbies and interests into the sessions to help improve understanding and provide a session tailored to that pupil. Knowing how to answer the question, for me, is the first step to success, and once this is achieved, I aim to make sessions interactive and engaging. I will do this through the use of different practice questions and quizzes. In my opinion, it can be challenging in a classroom environment, especially in Primary and early Secondary School, for every student to express every misunderstanding. Therefore, I hope to help those students thrive and give them 1 to 1 attention to ensure they fully grasp ideas they previously questioned. I also aim to offer a warm and comfortable learning environment. My lessons will be for pupils in Primary School and up to Year 9 in Secondary School. They will consist of 50 minutes.
