About Amin

Hello, I'm Amin. I recently graduated from high school and am now a college student. I have experience helping students improve their understanding of math and prepare for tests. I can explain mathematical concepts in simple, easy to understand language and adapt my teaching to each student's learning style.

My goal is to help students truly understand math rather than simply memorize formulas. I am patient, supportive, and committed to helping students build confidence in their abilities. I can also provide lessons in Russian.

About the lesson

Hello, my name is Amin. I am a recent high school graduate and an incoming Computer Science student. During high school, I gained experience helping classmates understand mathematical concepts and improve their performance in class. This experience taught me that every student learns differently and that successful tutoring begins with understanding a student's current level of knowledge.

I offer math tutoring for middle school and high school students. My current mathematics level is Calculus I, which I have successfully completed, and I will be continuing with Calculus II in college. As I continue my education, I will keep improving my mathematical knowledge and teaching skills, allowing me to provide even better support to my students over time.

My main teaching approach is to identify gaps in a student's understanding and explain concepts in a way that makes sense to them. Rather than teaching students to solve problems by following templates, I focus on helping them understand why methods work and how mathematical ideas connect to one another. Once students understand the material, they can solve a wider variety of problems independently and with confidence.

One advantage I bring as a tutor is that I recently studied many of the same topics myself. Because I am still a student, I can often understand how students think, where they get confused, and what misconceptions they may have. This allows me to explain concepts from their perspective and present ideas in a way that feels more relatable and easier to understand.

A typical lesson begins with identifying areas where the student may be struggling. We then review any missing foundations, work through concepts step by step, and practice applying them to different types of problems. I encourage questions throughout the lesson and adjust my explanations to match the student's learning style.

I am also fluent in Russian and can teach mathematics in either English or Russian, depending on the student's preference. This can be especially helpful for Russian-speaking students who feel more comfortable learning complex concepts in their native language.
