About Anika
I have graduated with a Marketing and Business degree. Having worked on several finance modules throughout my university experience I have continuously been working with numbers. I have been tutoring since age 16 at a tutoring centre and virtually so I understand multiple ways of teaching for different children in order for them to achieve their best.

I plan my lessons according to the child’s needs and ability as well as making it enjoyable and engaging. I ensure the child understands the topic by the end of the class and is comfortable to complete the homework that has been set. Initially I start of with simple questions and then move onto some harder questions once the child has understood the technique. I believe if the child relays back to the teacher I am able to see the way they think and work problems out which is a way to pick up on areas that can be improved. I like my lessons to be interactive hence I use a whiteboard and organise games related to the topic. After 4 lessons I like to do a “mini test” this is where I prepare questions on topics we have covered in the last month. The child will do this at home not in lesson time and I will mark it and relay back to the child and parent. This is a way for me to notice what needs to be recapped, what he/she is doing well in and to see how I can make the next lesson more challenging.
