About Kirsten
I am an Australian composer, conductor, and orchestrator based in Paris, with an international career in concert, opera, and interdisciplinary projects. My compositional practice treats music as a sculptural form, shaping sound and perception with particular attention to timbre, texture, and structure. I have worked with leading ensembles and orchestras in Europe and Australia, and my works have been performed at major festivals and recorded internationally.
Alongside my creative work, I am passionate about teaching composition, orchestration, and rehearsal technique. I draw on my training at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, IRCAM, and the École Normale de Musique de Paris to support students, from beginners to advanced composers, in developing technical skills, their musical voice, and artistic confidence. My approach combines creativity, rigor, and professional experience to help each student express their music with clarity and precision.
