About Penelope
I’m an English Professional Writing and Rhetoric graduate with personal experience navigating dyslexia, so I understand the challenges students can face. I love supporting students grow as writers and thinkers, and I tailor lessons to meet individual goals. My teaching combines clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and practical exercises, covering writing (essays, research papers, creative writing), reading comprehension, grammar, and professional communication. Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-up (5 min): Quick review of previous material or writing exercise.
Main Focus (30–40 min): Dive into your goal—this could be essay structure, grammar practice, close reading, or brainstorming. I provide models, tips, and space to practice.
Wrap-up (10 min): Review key takeaways, address questions, and assign a short follow-up task to keep momentum.
I focus on clarity, patience, and encouragement. Instead of just correcting mistakes, I explain the “why” behind them so students gain lasting skills. I also tailor lessons to each student’s strengths, learning style, and academic needs, helping them not just complete assignments but grow as writers and thinkers.
