About Crystal

As an OCT-certified teacher, I bring 20 years of educational experience straight to our sessions. My career spans diverse roles as a classroom teacher, educational assistant, and LTO teacher, giving me a deep understanding of curriculum expectations and effective teaching strategies.

As an expat who transitioned to Canada, I deeply understand what it takes to adapt to a new country and school system. Furthermore, as a mother myself, I truly understand the challenges of the education system and the demands placed on kids today. This background allows me to naturally create an encouraging space that fits your needs, including fully supporting diverse learners and students with IEPs.

My goal is to help you not only improve your skills, but also build lasting independence and a positive attitude toward learning. I take great pride in creating strong partnerships, helping every student feel truly successful, confident, and supported every step of the way.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, engaging, and directly focused on building your confidence and core academic skills. I will support you in mastering difficult concepts, analyzing information, and developing critical thinking, while helping you become a highly effective and independent learner.

Each of our sessions typically includes a quick check-in, guided instruction, and focused practice. We will work together on breaking down complex topics, organizing your thoughts, and tackling new material step by step. I also provide actionable feedback and customized strategy sheets to help you improve your work and build long-term academic independence.

What sets my teaching apart is my ability to break down challenging subjects into clear, manageable steps tailored to your exact needs. I create an encouraging environment where you will feel completely comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at your own pace.
