About Christinah
Music may seem intimidating to learn, but I focus on making it fun and accessible. I am approachable and deeply passionate about music, and I prioritize fostering a supportive learning environment. I aim for my learners to grow not only musically, but also holistically.
I am proficient in brass instrument performance, specializing in the Euphonium. I obtained my music degree from North-West University, where I performed in a number of ensembles.
I have experience teaching brass instruments and music theory to teenagers and adults through The Salvation Army, as well as to students as young as nine from local communities. Additionally, I have taught music education to children between the ages of two and five.

My teaching style is flexible but structured and I have a student-centered approach. I aim to make music theory practical and playable, and am able to simplify musical terms for beginners. I prioritize confidence-building in playing brass instruments. English is my primary language of instruction. I can, however, speak Xhosa, Zulu, Tswana, and Sotho. A typical brass lesson would look like warm-ups, technique training, exercises, scales, repertoire. Theory lessons would be interactive and immersive. My lessons are for beginners (children from the age of 8 to adults), intermediate players (school band), music students in need of extra theory support or preparing for an exam, brass players wanting to improve tone, technique, and confidence.
