About Ailsa
Hello, I'm Ailsa, and I am trained in anatomy and physiology to the level of a GP. I started my training following serious illness which made me reconsider everything I had previously held important in my life.
I am now a qualified and insured Therapeutic and Sports Massage Therapist (levels 3 and 4), and I have 15 years of clinical experience in health assessment and management, specialising in conditions which typically affect us more as we get older. I combine this with therapeutic work in the sporting/training environment. I also lecture extensively in colleges throughout the UK in human anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, nutritional science and medicinal plant chemistry.
In addition, I am a Seated Exercise Instructor: I take great delight in designing and holding sessions of seated exercise, suitable for people with compromised mobility, to enable them to reach their greatest health. It is wonderful to see the progress in health & strength of class participants as weeks go by - the positive ramifications this has for their everyday living!
I am also a qualified Nutritional Therapist and Western Medical Herbalist.

Are you interested in the science of nutrition and health?
I am qualified to Master's Degree level in the nutritional compounds of foods and medicinal plants, and how they can be used to positively affect your anatomy (your body's structure), physiology (how it functions) and pathophysiology (physiology that is compromised by illness), in the pursuit of optimum health.
I have taught human anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, nutritional science and medicinal plant chemistry at various colleges throughout the UK for 15 years, and am qualified in anatomy and physiology to the level of a GP. I am also a qualified and insured sports massage therapist, so can give guidance on muscular manipulation for best health should you so wish.
