About Achi

With over 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring mathematics courses at various levels and formats, I am confident that I can not only clarify mathematics concepts but be a key pillar of support for my students. With the right direction and motivation, I am a firm believer that any student can excel at math!

I completed my B.S. in Electrical Engineering at UC Davis in 2018. After working in the industry for a few years, I attended UC Santa Cruz for my M.S. degree. In the fall I will be attending Northwestern University for my Ph.D. I hope my love for learning will be contagious!

About the lesson

Teaching Method and Techniques:
I believe in personalized instruction, adapting my approach to match each student's unique learning style and pace. Most importantly, I prioritize building confidence in my students - math is for everyone!

Typical Lesson Plan:
Each lesson begins with a brief review and short "quiz" of previous concepts. I then ask students what topics they feel most uncomfortable with before clarifying their questions and diving into new topics. Throughout the session, students work on problems both independently and collaboratively, allowing room to redirect mistakes to learning experiences.

What sets me apart is my unwavering belief that every child has the ability to excel in math with the right guidance and support. I prioritize building strong relationships with my students, fostering trust and open communication so they feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their concerns. I am committed to not only helping students improve their math skills but also instilling in them a love for learning and a growth mindset that extends beyond the classroom.

My lessons are suitable for students at various levels, from elementary school to college, as well as those preparing for standardized tests like the SAT or ACT. Whether a student is struggling with basic arithmetic or tackling advanced calculus, I am dedicated to providing the support and resources they need to succeed.
