About Camilla

A deep love for sound and sense of community deeply engaged me in the vibrant electronic music scenes of cities like Turin, Lisbon, Boston, and particularly New York, where I currently reside. Oscillating between old-school 80’s and 90’s records and the newest sounds, my club dj sets are a colourful blend of styles somewhere in between house, minimal, breaks, techno and progressive trance. With a spacey and acid-heavy common denominator, I often leans into bass-driven, introspective, uplifting beats when the time is right.

In 2021, I launched Encrypted, my first series of events in New York, quickly gaining recognition for its unique intimate atmosphere and foreign talent bookings.
In my purposeful career, I have performed at renowned NYC institutions including Resolute, Elsewhere and Apollo Studio. With an unwavering dedication to my craft, I hope to inspire my students and music enthusiasts worldwide through ever-evolving creativity, meaningful messages and, of course, meticulously selected records.

About the lesson

Teaching Method and Techniques:
My teaching method blends practical hands-on experience with theoretical knowledge to provide a comprehensive understanding of DJing. I prioritize interactive learning, ensuring students actively engage with the equipment and techniques. Whether it's vinyl or digital, I emphasize fundamental skills such as beatmatching, mixing, scratching, and song selection. Additionally, I offer insights into music theory and the art of reading crowds, essential for crafting memorable DJ sets.

Typical Lesson Plan:
Each lesson begins with a brief review of previous concepts before diving into new material. We start with fundamental techniques, gradually building complexity as students progress. A typical lesson may involve:

Warm-up: Quick review of previous skills and concepts.
Technique Focus: Intensive practice on specific DJ techniques (e.g., beatmatching, mixing transitions, scratching).
Creative Exploration: Applying learned techniques to mix and blend tracks creatively.
Feedback and Q&A: Constructive feedback on performance and addressing student questions.
Assignment: Recommended practice exercises and listening assignments to reinforce learning.

Perfect! I am so impressed with Camilla,

We have only 2 lessons, and a zoom meeting to get to know one another. After that intro meeting, she sent me a 5 month lesson with all the things we talked about, and all the things I told her I wanted.

I am relatively new to DJing, with 6 months experience. In the 1st lesson, we talked about organization including playlists and cue points. I thought I knew about cue points and playlist , but she taught me so much more. She is so easy to work with and I highly recommend her.

Perfect! We had Camilla take us through a 2-hour DJ session, and it was honestly such a blast. It wasn’t our first time behind the decks, but it had been a long while — so this was the perfect refresher. Camilla was super clear, patient, and made the whole thing feel really fun and relaxed.

My wife got a lot out of it too, especially getting back into the flow and learning a few new tricks along the way. We both came away feeling re-energized and way more confident mixing again.

Would definitely recommend it to anyone — whether you’re brand new or just a bit rusty. Such a great session!
