About Zaina
I’m a neuroscience college student with a strong background in math and science, and I’ve always enjoyed helping other students understand concepts that initially seem difficult. I have experience working with students of different ages and learning styles through teaching, mentoring, and academic support. I’m patient, approachable, and always willing to explain something in different ways until it clicks. My goal is to help students become more confident in their abilities while building skills they can use independently.

I focus on making math easier to understand by breaking difficult concepts into smaller, manageable steps. I first figure out what the student already understands and where they are getting stuck, then I explain the general concept, and afterwards, we work through examples together before having them try problems independently. A typical lesson includes reviewing previous material, learning or clarifying a new concept, practicing with guided examples, and ending with a few problems to make sure the student can apply it on their own. I tutor elementary, middle, and high school students and can adapt lessons to different learning styles, class levels, and individual needs. What sets me apart is that I am patient and encouraging while still making sure students actually understand the reasoning behind a problem instead of just memorizing steps.
